AMERICAN ANSI/ISEA Z87.1
The ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 is the standard set by the American National Standard Institute(ANSI) along with the International Safety Equipment Association(ISEA) This is also the standard that is incorporated into Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) regulation for personal protective equipment. There are three main standard to consider are ANSI/ISEA(America), CE(European) and CSA(Canadian)
The most recent update of the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 was released in 2020. This is the first revision to be released since 2015 and it only adds minor details. The monumental changes on the standardwere applied from 2010 and 2015 revisions, shifting towards more hazard based vision, as opposed to the original product configuration requirements of the standard. The new standard is focused on the hazards and is organized so that users can seek guidance by type of hazard, such as impact, optical radiation, splash, fine dust and mist.

1. Frame components subject to marking vary by type of protector
● Spectacles: Frame and at least one temple. Both detachable side shields are marked Z87+ if impact rated
● Goggles: Frame and lens housing or carrier
● Face shield: Crown and chin protector
● Welding helmets and hand shields: Shell and lens housing or carrier
● Respirator: None
● Prescription frames: Size marking on front and temple following ANSI/ISO 7998/8624/12870
2. A complete device(no replaceable components) shall have at least one set of marking. The marking may be on the lens or the frame or both the lens and the frame
3.For spectacle protector, coverage marking "H" shall be on the lens for rimless or semi-rimless lens retention systems
4. In case of multiple filter type compliance, the designation shall be listed in the order given in this table U, R, L
5.Marks for the variable ADF's shall include the range of dark state offered.
6. Where a claim of compliance for both impact-rating and relaxed optical levels is made, it is acceptable, but not required for the "+" marking to be placed inside the "0" so long as both are discernible. No marking is required for standard optical levels.

Frame marking must include:
The CE symbol and manufacturer's name or identification. In Europe, the EN standard number ismandatory together with the various use and mechanical strength symbols, in accordance withthe tests requested by the manufacturer.

S: Increased robustness: steel ball of 22mm diameter at 5.1m/s
F: Low energy impact: steel ball of 6mm diameter at 45m/s
B: Medium energy impacted: steel ball of 6mm diameter at 120m/s
A: High energy impact: steel ball of 6mm diameter at 190m/s
